About SCY
SCY Scenarios
Advanced approaches to learning and instruction foresee a variety of pedagogical scenarios. Learners work self-directed and/or collaboratively on complex and authentic projects with the goal to acquire knowledge. SCY comprises all sorts of activities connected to knowledge building. For instance, learners may organise and conduct inquiry, browse for information online or design, create, and test artefacts as well as reflect on and discuss the collected data.

In order to support a large number of these different pedagogical scenarios and learning activities, SCY advances a flexible concept of pedagogical scenarios. Each scenario is built up by a specified set of building blocks, such as emerging learning objects, learning activities, and tools. Teachers and educational designers can build on a repository of uniformly depicted pedagogical scenarios, such as The Design Challenge, Inquiry Learning, and Problem Resolution to run with SCY-Lab. Teachers and educational designers may also build and contribute their own scenarios using those building blocks. We have created a Wiki to provide an expandable repository of scenarios and some background reading on how SCY scenarios are built up.
